I'm confused, why would you want it to NOT be a link. If it is a link I
can just click on it and see the website. The way you have it I have to
copy, past and then edit it before I can view the site. How is that
better than letting it make a link?

Fellow RV builders,
I wanted to know how long it has takes to dimple the RV-7 main wing skins (one
wing) using the impact c-frame dimpler. There are four skin panels per wing so
either total time or just time per panel.
Any information would be appreciated.

I would say " a little more than half an hour". I would do the holes
around the edges with my hand squeezer first cause this is a little faster
and a different action for the arms and wrists.

Hi Paul,
At about 210 dimples per sheet and 8 seconds to postion, dimple, repostion, I
get about 30 mins per sheet (I also have to reposition my C-frame several times
to be to get at all the holes). So ~2hrs begin to finish for all four skins.
Of course, if you can swing a hammer for 2 hrs non-stop, I'm impressed. ;)

Paul,
The answer is - a long time. But not as long as it takes to debur both sides
of every hole before you dimple.
More accurately, it takes about an hour to do each skin, and twice that to
debur beforehand.
Hint - the quality of the dimpling generally determines the qaulity of the
final rivet finish. On the thick inner wing skins I found the dimpling was
mediocre. So I used my slightly deeper tank dimple dies on the thick inner
skins and got a really superb flush rivet finish.
