My name is Rick Rammos, from Miami, FL, and I'm in the process of slowly building an RV-7A. I'm approaching completion on the tail and have made what I think is a minor mistake, but I'm not sure. Before closing the right elevator the instructions say to but a dab if Permatex or similar product between the stiffeners at the trailing edge. oops. Of course I went out and bought the stuff but sealed up the elevator without it. I can't imagine drilling out all those rivets for this and thought of drilling the lower rivets at the back stiffener, injecting some silicone and then closing with a blind rivet. Is this overkill? Should I just forget it? At this early stage I hate to start taking short cuts but I do want to be realistic if this project is going to progress. So what of it guys, any comments? The semi-rigid translucent stuff from the hardware store (tygon?) comes in a size that will just slide up the trailing edge. Force a little into the end, thread it in to the right distance & force the sealant out slowly with low pressure air. Charlie
