Read: less wind and cold elbows in the cockpit. Naturally, I lose his name and number as I near that step. (Are you listening?) I plan to follow Van's instructions, but I'm curious to hear of mods in this area. I've seen at least one mention of using a car key latch which sounded interesting. Thanks! ****************************************** Don Hall N517DG (registered) rv7 fuselage http://rv7.donka.net ****************************************** ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 05:14:52 PM PST US From: Norman Younie Subject: Re: RV7-List: Tip up canopy latch alternative? --> RV7-List message posted by: Norman Younie I have never thought about a cold elbow following Van's instructions, but I have gotten cold arms from the draft that come from the baggage area which comes from the tail via the corrugated baggage wall. Never notice a draft from the slot, it is suppose to be filled with the handle. At least this is my experience in the last few RV's that I have built and flown in -25 degrees F wx. Old Dodge Dakota truck door parts from the salavage yard provided me the need materials. It didn't save $$$$$$$$$ or time but I sure like it. Key entry on exterior with the door handle for opening on the interior and am also Maybe adding a keyless entry system.
