periences in a commercial for sale publication. You have done such a great
job of chronicling every detail complete with pix and videos, it would be a
shame to let it all set in=C2-storage boxes in corner of the hangar.
Can't imagine any RV builder not wanting to read & view your experiences. I
know if I were in a position to commence my RV 7A project tomorrow, I woul
d definitely want to have this preview material to help through the process
. Plus it would make for the kind of read that one can simply not stop unti
l the final chapter {first flight}.

Monday May 2 2010 at 1:15pm, RV-8 #82880 N998RV took to the air for the fir
st time! =C2-The first flight was about 30 minutes and all systems worked
as expected. =C2-The only post-flight adjustments necessary were an incr
ease in the amount of available Up trim, and a decrease in the upper RPM li
mit on the Hartzell prop. =C2-After a smooth takeoff, I climbed out and c
ircled the airport at about three to four thousand feet for a couple of cir
cuits then came around and landed making a nice three-point landing with no
bounce. =C2-The plane handled excellent and the power from the IO-390 an
d the Hartzell can only be experienced to be believed! =C2-What a great c
ombination!
I want to thank Van's for designing such a great aircraft and for producing
such an outstanding kit. =C2-I would also like to thank all my List frie
nds for their help and assistance during the project. =C2-And of course,
a special thanks to all of my personal friends that have come over and lent
at hand during the construction - I own you guys a ride and a $100 hamburg
er when I get the Phase 1 time flown off!
Probably in the Fall or Winter some time, plan to take it in for painting.
=C2-I'm planning on a Candy Apply Red with some very understated and eleg
ant golden trim with a nice clear coat.
For all those that are still building - keep at it! =C2-The end result is
100% worth the time and effort you put into the project. =C2-That first
flight will be the experience of a lifetime and something you won't soon fo
rget!
