Subject: | Re: Ignition systems |
I use Odessey batteries, one full size for main power and one small as a
backup for my dual lightspeed ignition. They seem to last longer with no
maintenance than lead acid aircraft batteries. Also, they can be purchased
at discount prices at most auto stores. The small one will operate the
engine for 3 plus hours in the event of alternator failure in flight.

Subject: | Re: RV-7 slider canopy binding |
I have found on my RV8 canopies (2000 hours 3rd canopy) that it is necessar
y
to drill holes for fasteners (I use screws #6/32 and drill and tap canopy
rails) The holes in the plexiglass canopy must be oversize so the canopy
can move around the fastener. My RV8 canopy will elongate as much as 3/16
inch from winter temps of 0 to 35 degrees to summer temps of 70 to 90
degrees.
Good Luck
