Dear Listers,
After nearly 23 years of building metal airplanes on and off, I finally cam
e across a really nice bucking bar.- The part number details are below an
d I've attached a picture of it with the optional 6.5" Dolly Shank attached
(recommended).
The handle has a vibration absorbing mechanism inside and it makes riveting
almost a pleasure.- It really works good.- I was truly amazed at how m
uch more comfortable it is riveting using the tool.-
If you've got even a modest amount of riveting left to do on your project,
surf over to the US Tool web site and order up one.- You won't be sorry!
I don't get any kick back (pun intended) from US Tool; I'm just a very stra
tified customer.
US Tool - TP111R - Recoilless Bucking Bar - All Steel:

Subject: | Empennage Kit Plus for Sale |
Hey Everyone,
I purchased an empennage kit for the RV-7A about a year or so ago. Life got
in the way and I never got a chance to do anything but look at all the won
derful shiny parts <smile>.
After a bit of back forth, I've decided that I'm going to build an RV-8A in
stead. Talked to Van's this morning and there are too many differences in t
he two kits to make it worthwhile trying to salvage the RV-7A Empennage Kit
to work on the RV-8A.
The 7A empennage kit is 100% just as you'd get from Vans. No work has been
done. Great chance to save ~$400 to $500 over the current Van's Price List
for the same parts.
My kit includes the builder's guide/manual, empennage kit, and electronic t
rim. With shipping, creating fees, etc. this was over $2,100. Selling for $
1,600 firm.
For local pickup in the Phoenix, AZ area ONLY. Willing to deliver if in the
valley area if needed. My hangar is currently up at Deer Valley airport (K
DVT) if anyone interested happens to be based there. Always welcome to pick
up at my house in Tempe as well.
Please e-mail me at don.honabach at pcperfect.com if interested.
Thanks!
Don

Please ignore my last message (sorry). I've got a couple comments off list
that has me re-thinking the 8A for my particular mission. I need to step ba
ck and re-evaluate for a bit.

I was already worried that I'd start up a storm of "this model is better than that
model" type of comments with my post. There is no way I'm touching on the
merits of non-A's versus A models <smile>.

I ordered, and began building the empennage for an RV-8. Someone near and
dear, objected to the tandem seating of the -8 so I changed my order to a
RV-7. I was able to modify the horizontal stabilizer to the -7
configuration and salvage the work already done. I'm not sure it would work
the other way around, however.
