Here's an interesting idea from a European glider company that might make it
possible to get out of an RV-8 in a hurry. It's an inflatable bladder under
the seat that pushes the pilot (or passenger) up to the canopy rails after
releasing the seat belts, in about a second. You have to get the canopy out
of the way first, of course.
