Subject: Why a hinge in the floor aft of the cooling ramp? Maybe a dumb question, but I can't puzzle it out from the plans and manual. Since I got my RV-8 QB fuselage I have wondered why there is a hinge between the inside cockpit floor and outside bottom skin just aft of the cooling ramp. There is a long hinge pin sticking out of the lower left side of the fuselage just forward of the right gear leg. Since the hinge is buried in between the floor and bottom skin, it does not appear to secure moving parts. What is the hinge there for and how do you folks secure the hinge pin (which I don't dare pull out?) Stephen Soule RV-6A flying and RV-8 under construction Do not archive <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2//EN"> <META NAME"Generator" CONTENT"MS Exchange Server version 5.5.2657.73"> Why a hinge in the floor aft of the cooling ramp?
