I found a new stock but orphaned Aviat Husky front seat, made by Oregon
Aero, and it fits fine in my RV8. Just narrowed van's stock seat back
plate a bit and slipped the Husky seat back in place. Works great and
extremely comfortable. I believe Oregon Aero sells RV seat parts now.
One attribute to look for in seats is the use of "confor" foam, also
called "temper" foam, instead of the usual stuff. Much more comfortable
and shock absorbing. For the back seat I bought a 3-density layered slab
of temper foam from Spruce, called Oregon Aero to buy material to match
the front seat, and then had a matching rear seat made up at a local
upholstery shop. Looks & feels great and didn't cost much.
Good luck,
Greg Miller, R89GM, 400 hours.

to somehow attache a hinge half to the bottom of their seat system. Interesting.
Why did they do that? Just so they could get built in support for their
adjustable head rest? Any real possibility of the internal frame wearing
through the material over time? any pictures from the back and installed? I'm
curious how wide it is over a "normal" seat.
