I also wrote Vans and they indicated that all references in the plans are relative to the centerline of the aircraft. Seems obvious now, but didn't seem so clear when I was in the hanger trying to make sure I didn't screw anything up. Called Vans and they said think of everything on the airplane as from the fuselage out rather than from the individual component. Good luck Wally -----Original Message----- From: owner-rv8-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-rv8-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Craig Subject: RV8-List: RV8 Aileron bracket fab question --> RV8-List message posted by: Craig Reference: Aileron hinge bracket assembly W-413, Dwg. 10A The inboard aileron hinge bracket assembly W-413 calls for three AN426 flush rivets. The exploded iso view calls out the flat head location as "inboard" or "outboard". Are the "inboard" and "outboard" terms relative to the wing, or the aileron? I'm not sure why these few rivets are specified flush rivets, so its hard to determine which side of the assembly needs to be a smooth surface. Thanks, Craig RV8AQB wings
