RV-8 & 8A builders, has anyone modified the brake system to include a parking brake
valve? I put one in my 601XL and would not have a plane without one. Problem
with the 8 I'm building is right
where the valve should be logically is split by the forward baggage compartment
floor. Anybody
affixed it somewhere else ? Also, Van's is selling a parking valve. Looks to be
the same one Spruce
lists at $ 109.00, somewhat less than Van. Hope to hear from you, Bill of Georgia

Subject: | Safety-Trim servo controller |
Fellow RV Builders,
This is a cross posted message to make you aware of an important new
product for our RV's. I'm an RV-10 Builder and normally post on that
email list, however this product applies to all RVs.
TCW Technologies has introduced a series of new electronic servo
controllers specifically designed for the Ray Allen series of trim
servos used in our RV aircraft. This new series of controllers is
called Safety-Trim and provides many features not previously available.
Safety-Trim prevents trim run-away conditions by providing a
time limited servo operation with each activation of a trim switch.
Safety-Trim additionally provides speed control and simplified
trim switch wiring.
Safety-Trim works on both 12 and 24 volt systems and is short
circuit and reverse polarity protected.
Additionally, models are available that provide 2 speed preset
operation of the trim system. Allowing fast responding trim at slow
airspeeds and slow responding trim at cruise airspeeds.
To learn all about this innovative new product please visit

We made a brace to mount on the bottom of the baggage floor and attach to
the same bulkheads and braces as the floor. We did this after the fact.
(everything already installed) Worked well only we had to change the lengths
of the brake lines because there connection points moved several inches.

Bob, I'm all for free enterprise, but it sounds like you're hawking a
product that competes with a Matronics product. Is that acccurate?
And, if so, isn't it ... uh ... a bit presumptuous to post this
announcement on the Matronics bulletin board?
Just asking, that's all ...

Don, I don't believe I'm being presumptuous. Although, Safety-Trim
and the Matronics Governor both control trim servo's I believe there are
significant differences between the two products and fellow RV builders
have been quite interested in our new product. Safety-trim offers 2
speed adjustable preset control of up to two servos as well as run-away
trim protection. I hope you and other builders will take a look at
the products we have to offer.
Respectfully,
Bob Newman
