Subject: | Filter-to-Pump Fuel Line |
I am looking for advice on the best way to bend this line. The
instructions are not very helpful. At least I have only one line
through the gear tower to bend as I am going with a carbureted engine.
I have bent a practice line in two sections that meet inside the gear
tower just to get the bends at each end right, but I don=99t know
how much this will help with the final line. I will leave it in place
while I bend the brake line just to occupy the space. Bending and
flaring this line looks near impossible to me at this point, but I know
that cannot be the case. I am also not sure when the best time is to
install the line. I may be premature. My fuselage is still wide open
as I want to do as much as possible inside before I install the top
skins. I will greatly appreciate all suggestions including any viable
alternatives to in-place fabrication.

I tried this myself more than once. All my other fuel lines turned out rea
lly =0Agood except that one and the one from the Facet pump to the firewall
. I finally =0Adecided there was no way I was going to be able to do a res
pectable job with =0Athem, so I went ahead and had Tom at TSFlightlines mak
e a couple of braided =0Alines for me. Turned out great. Now that they're
installed, I've decided to go =0Afuel injection instead. So now I get to
redo them again.=0A=0ABill Settle=0ARV-8 Slow Build=0A=0A=0A_______________
