I am also using Cleveland wheels and brakes on my 8. Have had no issues and
have 585 hours and over 1100 landings.

My RV-8 Version 1.0 came with Cleveland wheels and brakes and they worked
fine. RV-8 Version 2.0 came with Matco wheels and brakes. While I haven't
actually flown with the Matco's yet, I have to say they seem better built
and more "manly". Time will tell.
Attached are a pair of pictures from my Cleveland installation and another
pair of pictures from my Matco installation for comparison.

=F0=9F=98=8E=F0=9F=91=8D Replaced the Matco brakes off my "used" -8A and rep
laced them with Grove's setup. Robbie Grove personally helped me install the
m while I was in San Diego doing fire standby. He has a lifetime of experim
ental AC. I am impressed with the smooth breaking and solid feel. Each wheel
now has two Pistons pushing against the brake pad, the Matco's are single P
istons. When side by side, you can simply see the better quality and superi
or design. The -8A uses more braking action to maneuver on the ground than t
heir brothers with the little wheel in back. They are a bit more $ but I de
cided they where worth it, but than again I'm not too bright=F0=9F=98=9C,,,,
good luck and enjoy flying your -8A. Over 700 hrs now with miles of lost t
axing around various unfamiliar aerodromes. -Rotor =F0=9F=9A=81=F0=9F=92=F0
