Subject: | Power Wire Routing |
Has anyone drilled a hole in the forward wall of the right side gear
tower in line with the firewall hole shown in OP-35 to route the power
wire from the firewall-mounted battery into the avionics bay? Seems
like the most direct route-straight aft under the F870B stiffener, into
the gear tower, then up through the upper tower sidewall hole. I
hesitate to drill additional holes in the gear towers, but the existing
one at the base of the tower and also in bulkhead F866 aren=99t
ideally located for this purpose. I=99m planning to use a VP-X
for power distribution, so would probably only need to run a single #8
or #10 gauge wire rather than a bundle. Would still want a hole large
enough to take extra wires if necessary. Other options? Photos would
be greatly appreciated. I have looked at installing the battery in the
baggage box well, but adding a mount to a QB fuselage seems like an
unnecessary complication.
