      Hi Paul,
      It all looks pretty intimidating at first and you will be faced with other 
      problems that are just as frustrating. Half the the fun is learning to deal with
      
      these things and learning where and when to look for help.
      For myself I have been surprised and pleased with how understanding and 
      helpfull the people at Van's are.  Even when I call and ask a question that is
      
      clearly answered in the instructions and or drawings.
      You already have good advice on getting your spars apart. You might also 
      squirt a little oil on them and possibbly warm them a little. Not hot, just warm
      
      to the touch.
