Ok here is my question. On the elevator there is a rivet that holds the outer skin to CW skin to elevator spar that is on the inside of the leading edge bend. How did people squeeze/buck that puppy. I put a blind one in the bottom, but I'd like a flush one on the top. Also any tips for approaching the elevator trailing edge would be appreciated. Thanks for any thoughts. Cheers, Pete ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 08:16:36 PM PST US From: DThomas773@aol.com Subject: Re: RV9-List: Re: HS skin fit --> RV9-List message posted by: DThomas773@aol.com Hi Paul, As you continue with your airplane you will find you need to look ahead and plan carefully. You will find a few minor errors here and there and the further you go the more you need to jump from one plan to another to complete a task. Sometimes you will need to be looking at 3 or more sheets, cross referencing information, to get all the information to do a given job. I bought my empennage kit in late 2000 and at that time that is all you could buy. They were accepting orders for wing kits but they were not yet available. Preview plans, fuselage kit, finish kit and quick build kits arrived on the availability lists one at a time over the following 18 months. That seemed a long time in coming. At about the same time all those things became available, low and behold, they introduce the RV7. Guess what? At the time of it's announcement, all kits were available for that model. To me it seems for some reason, after the the 9 was introduced but not all the engineering, drawing and planning was finished, they diverted a lot of there resources to work on the 7. I think we have a good, well designed model, . But somehow in the hustle of all that was going on in the company, new models, move into the new facility, etc. the 9 became somewhat of a bastard child This is just my assumption and I may be totally wrong. That is the way I see it however. Just be sure of what you are doing when you do it. Dennis Thomas finishing kit Do not archive Hi Paul,
