Subject: | Longeron Bending Drawing |
--> RV9-List message posted by: Steve Mottin <rv9@charter.net>
I'm feeling really dumb right now. I've finished all of my bulkheads
for the fuselage of my RV-9A and today I marked and cut the longerons
and I cut all of my J-stringers. I was getting ready to begin the
bending process when I discovered that I did not have either drawing
17 or drawing 17A which have the bending template on them. I of
course, do have them in my preview plans but they are not to scale for
bending.
Now my question to someone who's already been there. Are drawings 17
and 17A the same size as all of the other drawing or were they larger?
I have this nagging feeling that these drawings were larger than my
easel board and that I put them up somewhere for safe keeping. If
that's true, I need to keep looking for wherever that safe place is. If
they are regular sized I would have had no reason not to put them on
the easel with the rest of the drawings and I must have not received
them with my fuselage kit.
Somebody help please, before I tear the house and the hangar totally
apart looking for these drawings.
Thanks,
Steve Mottin

They are larger and in a safe place. When you find that safe place there
may be some of the things that I put there and can't find. Good luck!

Steve, I have the 17 and 17a in both the small and blown-up versions. I
think they came with the kit.

Subject: | Annual Maintenance Manual |
--> RV9-List message posted by: DThomas773@aol.com
Hi Guys,
I know if we build the things we should be smart enough to do an annual on
them. However, I'm a by the numbers, step #1, step #2 etc, kind of person. I'm
more comfortable with a book or list or someone to tell me just what needs to
be done.
Is there a generic guideline out there somewhere?
Ken Scott said to go to the Van's Air Force sight by Reeves, but I don't find
anything there and they don't return my emails.
Appreciate any input.
