An avenue you might explore on your CHTs. In our chapter (663 Livermore, CA) newsletter was an article on unexplained high CHTs. Short story, they found that the flashing between the cooling fins near the plug was blocking the passage of cooling air. Cleaned it out with a file and the CHTs were in the normal range. I was going to give you a link to the article from our newsletter archive, but that month for some reason was not posted.
