After aligning and calibrating to each of the four principal directions, I was surprised and pleased to find that the calculated correction was only one degree. On taxing back to the hangar, the Dynon compass agreed with GPS readings to a degree or so. This was a surprise because I installed the magnetometer bracket with steel nutplates and screws. And it was mounted too close to a shoulder-harness cable. Here, in Brasil, we need an approval from an enginneer specialized in aviation, and 50 hours flying in a restricted area in order to receive a definite airworthness certificate. These enginneer charged me US$700.00 plus air tickets from Rio de Janeiro to my workshop. He wants to assist the weight and balance task.
