I got a piece of aluminum from Aircraft Spruce that has clear plastic on one
side. After pealing the plastic off, there was an adhesive film left
behind. This stuff is like pro seal. I haven't found anything that will
cut it off the aluminum. Lacquer thinner, acetone, even methyl ethyl death
wont cut it. Does anyone know what will cut this stuff off?

Did you try a detergent or soap of any kind?

I had the same problem... but what I thought was adhesive residue was in
fact, corrosion. It had to be sanded off. As far as I know, the
plastic film does not use adhesive.
