I'm planning on converting these over to Camloc 4002 series and wonder what thickness sheet aluminum should be used to fasten the receptacles to. I realize Aircraft Spruce offers kits to do this but I rather make it myself. Has anyone done this and do you recommend .043, .050 or .063? Guess what? I won. And must tell you: My -9A has a three blade Catto prop. Its very, very easy removal 6 piano wires. I believe it is easier than remove the cam locks system. The cowlings is tied together every milimeter and tight. Think about it. -- JC - Aracaju Citando gbrasch@earthlink.net: > > Why are you going to change them out, if I may ask? > > Glenn Brasch, Tucson, Arizona, KRYN. > RV-9A Finish kit #90623, 1953 Piper Tri-Pacer > Van's Aircraft Belt Buckles > http://home.earthlink.net/~gbrasch/ > > -----Original Message----- > >From: Steve Dwyer > >Sent: Mar 25, 2007 8:08 AM > >To: rv9-list@matronics.com > >Subject: RV9-List: Engine Cowl Fasteners > > > >I've got 70 hours on my 9A and I am convinced the side hinges between the upper and > lower cowl have to go.
