Hi Guys
Are the standard 'magnetos' as supplied on a standard Lycoming -320 (via Vans)
supplied with one Impulse coupled (left hand) mag. or are they both Impulse coupled.
John

You'd need to ask Van's to be sure. But most 'standard' configured Lycs
have one impulse, on the left side. It's relatively easy to check an
existing engine; the impulse mag is about an inch 'taller' than a
non-impulse, in the area of the mounting flange. It takes longer mounting
studs for the impulse mag.
