It came rolled into a bundle. Can I straighten it by hand.. or do I use some kind of a tool? Bending it (near the bellcrank) -- use a tube bender, or just bend it by hand... Also, anyone using 3/32" pop rivets from Van's... I tried a few, and pretty much on all of them, the stem gets completely pulled out by the rivet puller.. That leaves a small hole in the middle of the rivet. The stem doesn't break off like on larger rivets I used so far. Is this normal? I guess it can be filled with filler later... Thanks! Harder had to use a tube bender. They come in different sizes but are rally very similar to a closely coiled spring 6 -8 inches long. Slip the right size around the tubing and straighten. For small or close bend you will need a more complex tool. See Spruce. It would depend on where the pop-rivet was. Most places you probably don't need to fill. Yes it is normal for a hole to remain. From: "Larry Bowen" --> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: "Larry Bowen" Just straighten by hand. I used nyloseal tubing instead. You might need to use a bender near the bellcrank to avoid kinking it. I've only used the 3/32 countersunk blind rivets on nutplates -- yes, the stem always pulls out. - Larry Bowen Larry@BowenAero.com http://BowenAero.com Rad Z said: > --> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: Rad Z > > Hey folks, > > a quick question that I'd need help with: > > -- Soft Al tube for pitot system. > > It came rolled into a bundle. At the first stop light turn left (east). Go one half mile, I am on the right. The address is 2237 Scalesville Rd., Summerfield, NC. It is a brick house, in the middle of a field with black board fences. Coming from the south, come north out of Greensboro on 220 (Battleground Ave in the city), approximately 5 miles out of GSO you will come to the community of Summerfield. Pass through first light, CCB & a Food Lion, and turn right at the second light on Scalesville Road. I am 1/2 mile on the right. MEYLOR FIELD IDENTIFIER 9NC9 Hope to see you all Sunday! I've verified that the prop governor and the prop itself are working perfectly. So, after running the serial numbers of the engine case past Lycoming, it's been learned that it used to be used on a O-360-A4. This uses a solid crank, and has a drain hole of some sort near the front of the crank. If this drain hole was left open during assembly and a hollow crank/CS prop were used, the pressure intended for the prop would be lost through this drain hole, back into the case. That is the current theory to explain why I can't cycle my prop. The only way to verify this theory and fix the issue is to REMOVE THE !@#$@! ENGINE FROM THE @#$##%$ PLANE AND TOTALLY @#$@#$ TEAR IT DOWN!! After spending months working on the FWF portion of this project, and the FAA being ready to deem the plane airworthy if I could just cycle the prop.... The whole situation is just about making my physically ill. I cannot freaking believe it.
