--> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: Lenleg@aol.com In a message dated 8/20/2004 1:19:12 PM Eastern Daylight Time, lmillsap@elmore.rr.com writes: Dennis, the dog, the cat and the airplane are in North Carolina, while the children and I are still in Alabama. Just spoke with Dennis, who is finishing up inprocessing at Goldsboro, and then plans to go flying this evening down to Kinston for gas and then just checking out the area. If any of you are flying tomorrow and want to meet him somewhere on the east side of North Carolina, give him a call at 252-916-8178 on his cell phone. We bought a home in Winterville, NC, just south of Greenville, and should have plenty of guest rooms and lots of space to host a gathering as soon as we get settled. We are about 3 miles from N08 (Farmville's grass strip), and Dennis has the RV-6A under a shed there for now. We'll either build a hangar there or move it to Kinston. We found a developer who is interested in building a T-hangar for us in Kinston (8 planes), so if anyone is interested in hangaring there, please let me know. He'd like 4 commitments before building, and says he can have it built in about 6 weeks. I can't wait to get active in the local area--please just give us a month or two to move into the house, and then expect to see us around quite a bit! Sorry we could not find any hanger space or airport info for you ... all my calls were futile and when I went to our roster site at: _www.bowenaero.com/serv_ (http://www.bowenaero.com/serv) we had no one from the Greenville Kinston area. Looking forward to meeting you guys ... at the very first ECU football game !!! Taking my son back to ECU Friday and will spend the night ... back home on Saturday sometime. Subject: A little help please
--> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: "Bill Repucci" <bill@repucci.com> Ron, Thanks for the comment on the map box. I think what I will do there is buy a small video screen and use it for the map box door and remotely mount the CD/DVD player in the baggage compartment. That way I can have both. The guy I sold my T-Craft to is formerly with the NASA AGATE program and he commented that the FAA wouldn't sign the plane off with out an independent whiskey compass and that a vertical compass wouldn't suffice. Any comments on that? To do over, and I guess I could just too lazy, I wouldn't install a 'map box'. Our panel started fairly simple and now we are to the point we don't have room for anything else.
