--> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: "Larry Bowen" <Larry@BowenAero.com> I hope to have the EI back on the plane and be back in the air by this weekend, but with all of 1.9 hours on it and only 5 landings -- there is no way I am ready to "leave the nest" yet. And at five hours am back down again to change the oil. Anyway, at least am flying!!!! I'll be joining you guys in the near future, but not yet.... - Larry Bowen Larry@BowenAero.com http://BowenAero.com Lenleg@aol.com said: > --> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: Lenleg@aol.com > > Guys: > > Looks like the weather is going to be nice on Sunday .... lets try to get > together for some flying .... could even include Larry Bowen in his new 8 > !!! > > A few ideas: > > 1. --> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: "Linzel Gray Civ 43 CES/CECP" <Gray.Linzel@pope.af.mil> After I did a top overhaul the shop said to run straight mineral oil and fly at no less than 75% power (full throttle at 8000 ft) for the first 25 hours or until oil consumption stabilized in order to seat the rings. I changed oil earlier as engine didn't seem to burn much oil. Is 5 hours for the first oil change now the deal for a new engine? It makes sense, just curious.
