This picnic that Wayne8 is talking about is put on by the Cape Fear Aero Association, and is one of our most fun events of the year. It is very informal, just come as you are and be prepared for good hamburgers and hotdogs. Just leave a little money in the kitty for next year. We give rides to any kids that want to go up, and then just go up and play as much as we can stand it. Len, this is a great excuse to show up as a group formation and show these guys what a real arrival looks like. You guys come on down. The location is Grays Creek, 2GC, about six miles due south of Fayetteville airport, FAY. Hope to see everybody there. If there is a group, we can gather up over Eastover Air Ranch and go to 2GC from there. What do you guys think? From: "Larry Bowen" --> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: "Larry Bowen" That's what I've been told to do by my engine guy. My advice would be to follow whatever your engine dude tells you. If nothing else, when things break, you can at least be able to say you were following his directions, and thus, perhaps, get better support making things right. - Larry Bowen Larry@BowenAero.com http://BowenAero.com Linzel Gray Civ 43 CES/CECP said: > --> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: "Linzel Gray Civ 43 CES/CECP" > After I did a top overhaul the shop said to run straight mineral oil and fly at no less than 75% power (full throttle at 8000 ft) for the first 25 hours or until oil consumption stabilized in order to seat the rings. I changed oil earlier as engine didn't seem to burn much oil. Is 5 hours for the first oil change now the deal for a new engine? It makes sense, just curious. > Gray > -----Original Message----- > From: Larry Bowen [mailto:Larry@bowenaero.com] > To: rvsoutheast-list@matronics.com > Subject: Re: RVSouthEast-List: Sunday at Stantons????? > --> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: "Larry Bowen" > > I hope to have the EI back on the plane and be back in the air by this weekend, but with all of 1.9 hours on it and only 5 landings -- there is no way I am ready to "leave the nest" yet. > And at five hours am back down again to change the oil.
