Larry, the "Flight Guide" publication always has landing fees listed in
their airport info listings. Another good reason that those little brown
binders are good to have around.

      Hey guys,

getting ready to install the AOA port, so I can move
      on with the wing.

Which dimple dies are good for #4 screws? I don't
have #4 d.d. set.. wondering if 1/8" dimples would
      work..

I suppose a hole is needed at the bottom of leading
edge so the upper port can be drained.. Any
recommendations on size of this hole?

Anything else to pay special attention to?

      Thanks!
      Radomir

      You could use the 1/8" but I think I have a set for #4 ... I used the #4
screws in my wingtips ... I will look over the weekend and let you know !!

      You have the PSS AOA?

I don't remember how I dimpled, but I remember having to file 100 degree
angles on the screws to fit nicely in the dimple. Fun.

I did a #30 hole on the bottom.

      Radomir:
I did use the #30 and it worked great. I also connected a metal tube
(chromed copper) so it extends a little below the bottom skin. This allows
me to drain the top port by simply pushing up on the tube. Remember to seal
the port to the skin. (I used form-a-gasket as recommended in the
      instructions.)

      Thanks everyone for prompt responses.

I'll try out 1/8 d.d. set on a scrap piece first to
      see how it'll work out.

If these screws are "wrong" (not 100 deg.) I'll just
temporarily place them there and then maybe get "real"
screws later (from microfasteners, I guess).

Is this form-a-gasket available at auto parts stores?
I have some blue RTV.. not sure if that'd work for
sealing. (trying to never crack open that proseal I
      have in the freezer :)

Thanks for the reminder...Dennis's RV-6A will be there, but he doesn't get
back from Colorado's hunting trip until 5pm tomorrow afternoon, so the girls
and I will be standing guard. Y'all come see us!

Hey, Len, what football game will you be coming to soon? We are looking
forward to meeting you in person.

Brave man, Len... I'm not sure I'll ever use #6's again (at least in Phillips head)
in a plate nut application, and you go and use #4's. How many did you wring
      off getting them out?

Made a nice trip to Dare County Regional and back with my Dad to get some fresh
seafood from his lifelong friends at Manteo Trawl Company today. Would you burn
24 gallons of RV fuel to fetch 80 gift pounds of fresh headless shrimp and
picked crabmeat? Oh, yeah!!! (That weight figure includes the ice and coolers,
but does NOT include the little neoprene plugs that were SUPPOSED to go in
the cooler drains, so, yes, it got a little wet on the floor... cockpit should
smell quite interesting next summer). These are nice folks Dad has known forever
and they never let him pay for anything. Hard to believe we were down to
the Outer Banks and back to the Virginia mountains in 3.3 Hobbs hours; that's
      RV Magic!

BFR with Larry Small tomorrow at INT, 10:00am. Maybe see you before the big ECU
      game?

      Bill,

We have lot going on here in Columbia this weekend but if you fly down and
get there by 12:00 the BBQ is on me. We can do some formation flying before
      or after that.

I have some things to check out on the plane and some things to do late
afternoon that will keep me close to home but we could work something out.

      Whadday think??
