I have four names on the Van's Builders list for Goldsboro. I don't know
which is the nice young couple based there but they would be wonderful to get
to your fly-in ... you might want to try to write all four of these and see
which one it is.
William Savage 111 Windyfield Dr Goldsboro, NC 27530
Christopher Mallory 110 Planters Place Goldsboro, NC 27530
Patrick Pence 611 E. Beech St. Goldsboro, NC 27530
Darrell Ham 204 Benton St. Goldsboro, NC 27530
Good luck !!

SERV:
A little recap for those of you that did not make the Greys Creek Fly In.
Wayne8 and I departed Greensboro around 1:00pm to meet up with Dave Davenport
and John Wilson at Eastover Airpark just north of Fayetteville for the short
flight over to Greys Creek.
As Wayne8 and I arrived Dave and John were on the ground already judging our
approaches and landings !!! We laid out our plans for a flight of three ...
yes Wayne8 decided not to make the trip over with us for reasons only he
will be able to give ..... John led us over and into trail for a low pass down
the runway .... love my RV !!!
We circled to land on 25 (which is very narrow !!) and back taxi . There
were probably 30 or so planes on the ground including a few SERV members, Ed
Regensburg, Mike Barbee, and Bill Carothers had just departed. There was one
other recently completed RV-6A without paint that I saw takeoff but did not
get the opportunity to say hello ... might be Robert from Fayetteville ?????
Loved the atmoshpere at Greys Creek .. a small country airport ... with lots
of nice people. Mike Barbee probably had the most fun ... he flew in with a
friend that recently purchased the Giles 202 with the awesome paint job that
was featured in Sport Aviation about 6 months ago ... Primal Fear ... or
something like that. He let me touch the controls and I am not sure I could fly
the darn thing ... those controls are unbelievable .. extremely smooth and I
am sure it does not take much to move the plane !!! Mike said they flew
togther and his friend would just turn it inverted and fly along with them !!!
It was a lot of fun ... hope more of you will make it next time !!!
Anyone going to Winchester ... Darlington ... etc this weekend?
Len

yes, Len, that was my "ugly duckling" of an RV sitting there. I looked
around for you so I could say hi, but had to bolt back to FAY for a
wife-induced event. I'll catch up with you sometime soon, I'm sure.
I've got 12 more hours before I can get out of the box, which I hope
won't take too long now that the cracked cylinder has been replaced.
And Greys Creek isn't narrow - just think of it as one big center line!

Hi Len,
Well the RV-4 got finished off...after Frances it was pinned under the roof
trusses but did not have major damage. Now it is burried under the concrete
block wall that collapsed on top of it. I'll send you pictures as soon as I
can. Insurance has already agreed that it is now totalled so I'll get full
value.
Home is OK. We are headed back there today from Orlando where we have been
staying in a hotel.
The rental hangar I was in got blown down, so I sustained even more damage
to all my hangar stuff. The good news is the the -6 and -7 are fine. I had
flown them down to a safe hangar in Ft. Pierce.
We are already making plans to build a new, modern, hurricane-proof hangar!
I'll fill in all the details when we get settled back home. But right now
we are going back to no power, water or sewer. We have a generator so that
will help. Hope to have electricity back in a few days.
Later,
Pat
