      Tad,
Could you please give me his name? I need to have my Garman 327/encoder
checked as I assume the FAA will require proof that it has been done when they

      visit soon.

I dislike indecisiveness, especially in myself. Yet decisions like this are never
easy... I figure if we hold the fly-in as planned Saturday, we might have
about 4 planes show up (maybe). The next weekend we might have a different 4
show up. I'm almost the only respondent who said he could make it either weekend
      :-)

      Here're the facts:

The guy who rents our hayfields just sprinkled turkey litter all over the farm,
and it's going to have a pungent smell until the next rain, which is not for
      awhile. =:O

The leaves have just barely begun to show any fall color here. They will peak
      in about 2 more weeks.

I was really getting impatient to have a get-together this weekend, but I'm up
      for it either time.

--- The only solutions seem to be to have no fly-in at all, or have two on successive
      weekends.

Let's do the Solomon thing and "cut the baby in half," thus: the real Fall Fly-In
will be NEXT Saturday, October 16th. We will be hangin' out here THIS Saturday,
the 9th, with the welcome mat out for anyone who wants to drop in for a
real informal time, including some victuals. This way I (hopefully) still get
to visit with Leggs, whereas maybe Smoozer and some of the Ohio Valley Boys can
make it the following Saturday. My family may shoot me for doing this twice
in a row, but - hey, I love airplanes, airplane people, and socials :-)

So there it is; you are ALL invited BOTH times, and I will quit worrying about
who can come when. Like the guy says, we'll keep the light on for ya. No skin
off my nose if nobody shows either weekend; I _love_ shrimp on the grill; more
      for me :-)

Let's say 2 pm both days, finishing by 5:30. Unicom will be 122.85 and navigational
data is listed on AirNav.com under "12VA."
