The YE program is still in effect and growing. The age is 7 to 17 . the EAA has the forms they will send you for free, you just have to email and ask for some....I ordered 5 just to get some and see what they looked like. It is a release that must be signed by a guardian. as well the name and address for the files at EAA for the offical head counts. We agree with your logic.....or at least I do. I don't want to be "insurance poor" or let it affect the reason I fly....I truly believe half the fun of flying is introducing it to non flyers as evident by the number of times I fly solo to just fly.....hardly any! of course now I love to fly in pairs and that even tops giving rides, but I digress from the subject..... Our situation is a little different as Tripp and I are partners and anything one does, the other will be dragged into by the ownership thing.......so we are looking at the whole thing with that in mind. One solution was to only give rides to family and Young Eagles in the RV and rent a spam can for all others. But that brings up the RV guys and prospective builders and such..... We would like to make a release that we could get people outside the family and young eagles read and sign. One that would tell them what they are about to do.....relating to the Expermental Catagory, etc...and that they agree to accept the 100,000 limit for .........well lets hope nothing, but it would make them think as well........I doubt anything we write up would ever stand up in court, but it would raise awareness levels. Any ideas or information along this line would be appreaciated. This is an important topic, not to be dwelled on but brought up now and then to help us make the right decisions from time to time........ It seems I was getting a very high MP reading everytime I compared with someone else .... my Rky Mtn uMonitor was reading high ... not their fault but mine !!! I did not calibrate the unit correctly .... I was reading 4" too high !!! Or to put another way I was flying 4" lower setting than everyone else ... that is giving up a lot of MP !! But on the good side ... I have discovered additional speed with no mods !!!! Len Leggette, RV-8A Greensboro, N.C.
