Hi Listers,
The List of Contributors (LOC) is just around the corner! On December 1st
I post a list of everyone that so generously made a Contribution to support
the Lists. Its sort of my way of publicly thanking everyone that took a
minute to show their appreciation for the Lists.
Won't you take a moment and assure that your name is on that List of
Contributors? As a number of people have pointed out, the List seems at
least, if not a whole lot more, as valuable as a building/flying/recreating
tool as a typical your magazine subscription. We won't even talk about a
newsstand price... :-)
Won't you take minute and assure that your name is on the upcoming
LOC? Tell others that you appreciate the Lists. Making a Contribution to
support the Lists is fast and easy using your Visa or M/C on the SSL Secure
Web Site:

I would like to thank everyone that has so generously made a Contribution
thus far in this year's List Fund Raiser! Remember that its YOUR support
that keeps these Lists going and improving! Don't forget to include a
little comment about how the Lists have helped you! I love to feel the
love... :-)
Best regards,
Matt Dralle

The 6A I just got has no rotating beacon nor strobes. I think beacon at
least might be a legal requirment as all cert aircr have them. Question is,
who has retrofitted what? Builder says he ran a wire which is coiled in the
tail someplace, so a vert stab tip I think could work. wing tip strobles
might be easier but a lot more expensive. Any recomendations? charlie

A light on top of the VS might be annoying shining over your shoulder in
the cockpit, unless your block the light in that direction.
You can save some money if you go with strobes by getting a "non-aviation"
power supply, like these:

Mine has been working well so far.
I'm not sure I've seen an RV with a rotating beacon. Doesn't mean it
can't be done........
Cheers,

Charlie:
Most RVs do not put a big ... speed slowing ... beacon on their plane. We
work so hard at putting in flush rivets and trying to keep everything so clean
on the plane. To put a beacon on would seem to be the opposite of that.
I put on wingtip strobes as well as a tail strobe that fits into the
fiberglass cap on the bottom of the rudder. I have flown behind several RVs with
the tail strobe and it is really visible.
Good luck with whatever method you choose !!

Charlies, I have a single strobe on the VS. If placed correctly on the
RV-6 Vs the forward top of the VS shadows the cockpit from the strobe and I
have had no problem with it - even in clouds.
