Well, got airborne after fixing fuel leak. However, power was not what it should
be (probably my new homemade muffler is still too restrictive), so flew down
to Stantons anyhow, but never found it. Decided that with my reduced power
and a grass strip that I had not flown into before (and possibly soft ground
after recent rains) that the prudent course was to head back.

Well, why didn't someone yell or wave {:>)?. I looked and looked, looked
for Red Restaurant bld, looked for runway, looked for airplanes on ground,
looked for airplanes in the air.
Actually, I figured I was in the vicinity and could have called on radio and
asked if anyone heard me - but, eventually decided that I didn't want to go
into a grass strip with my reduced power - would have probably been OK.
But, "probably" is not good enough.
If anyone has precise GPS coordinates, down to the 0.xxx, I would like to
get it from you.

There were only 2 planes on the ground when you went by and I was trying to

For anyone who anticipates flying to Stanton's BBQ. This URL has PHOTOS! of what
it looks like from the air. I now realize I did fly over the strip - (recognize
it from the photo and what appeared to be come kind of lime line markings
near the center ) but simply did not recognize it as such.

Great time today at our "little gathering"!
Twelve (I *think*) RV's that LANDED. Some that either didn't find it or
otherewise chose not to land and Len you thought there would be only THREE
planes!!
Ha! We sure surprised you on that one didn't we. Next time. We might even do
better.
Would you believe Ken and I had just left a SC Breakfast Club fly-in at the
Darlington Speedway??? So we had a VERY early start. :-) Fortunately it was
"along the way".
I tried to get a shot of every plane that arrived but I think I missed the
RV6A that arrived after we went inside. They are not great shots but if
someone wants one at full rez, let me know.
To whosoever took it, I really like the shot of me in "Papa Juliette"
landing with the trees in the background. Would like to have a "hi-rez"
version sent to me at: james@nextupventures.com if at all possible.
And the formation practice was a nice finishing touch. You could tell that
Bill was getting better by the MINUTE!! (Being ex-military helps it seems
:-) ) In one of the shots you get to see that "magic moment" when there
was symmetry and stability. Doesn't have to be so close ... just symmetric
