Thanks James, Ken, and Bill for all the fun ... think the second flight went
better for me than the first. Looking forward to many more.
Looking forward to the pics being posted on the SERV site too.

Great to hear that you have made it back to the ranch.
Yes folks, we had a good practice session today.
Len and Bill flew down to Columbia in what they described as "silky smooth"
air. Looked good crossing mid-field as a "flight of 2".
First session with Ken as lead ...
Briefed (at length), flew the brief (in now BUMPY air :-} ), came back,
de-briefed and then we BBQ'ed.
After BBQ (and a recalc of weight and balance :-} ), with me as lead we
briefed (briefly this time) and flew again. Given the need for Bill and Len
to get back home, after returning to the airport, they continued on after
the "overhead". [Our "de-brief" to be done via the internet].
We all made some mistakes, we all did some good things and we all learned
and got a little better. A really *good* two sessions.
And oh yeah, we had fun in the process!!
I left the airport without making a CD of the pictures that our
"photographer" took, so I will have to get over there tommorrow and do such
so that the pix can be uploaded tommorrow. Stay tuned ... some are quite
nice. Of course sometimes the "angle of the photo" implies that one of us is
out of position, but I am sure that it was just a photo angle thing ...
yeah, right. :-)
Thanks again Bill and Len for making the trip, we had a wonderful time!
Gotta do this again, SOON!
James

Debrief thoughts from the bleachers (#4).2nd flt.
Len, you looked great and flew more relaxed at 2. a
little less pressure, I think, cause you are only
concerned about flying off lead. Ken helped make a
tight group w/ his work at #3. James, your'e an
excellent lead, I'll fly w/ you guys anytime. I felt
more like an observer in the p.m. session. Feel I was
working way harder than I should have been..kinda
tired, musta been that bbq. It was more difficult in
that bumpy air to feel good about tightning up on Ken.
Wasn't gonna get dangerous. All-in-all, a great
workout. This could get addictive. Happy Holidays to
all these next cold days. Let's get back at it. soon
in '05. Hope to see you at Lakeland, Bill

Yes he did! I don't know what it was but he was "in there!" on this flight.
Each time I would look over, he would be right where he was "sposed to be".

Yup if you just think about what YOU have to do, it takes away some of the
pressure. Mentally being clear about what has to happen before getting in
the plane helps a lot.
<Bill of course you KNOW this with your background and countless hours doing
this stuff. My comment is for others who may be lurkers. >

Ken was always "right there" with Len (#2). Of course the turbulence but
everyone out of position every now and then. :-)

I think part of it is LEAD getting the right power setting for the routine
given the range of HP's and props we have. When we get it "locked" for range
of power (150-180 HP) and props (FP wood - CS Metal), I suspect it will get
a lot better.

I **told** you that BBQ was "nap inducing"! :-)

Right call of course!! As we said in an earlier email. Safety is #1.
> workout. This could get addictive. Happy Holidays to
Yup. Already is addictive to some of us. Having you guys come over was
probably like a junkie getting a mega-fix. We really enjoyed the workout.

Happy Holidays to you and yours. Yes, we must get back at it soon.
