You can fly right over Cherry Point at 2500 feet and direct to MRH. There is Restricted Airspace north and south of MRH. You might want to talk to Cherry Point Approach for there is a lot of military activity in the area. Also don't forget Iso and Ewn non federal towers and associated airspace. No problem at all flying in to MRH though. The simplest way to go in VFR is to go to New Bern VOR (EWN), then direct. Over EWN, contact Cherry Point Approach on 199.35, and they will normally just have you maintain 3000-3500 until past their airport traffic area, then descend into MRH. Coming out, contact them on 124.10. It's a beautiful area down there, so don't let a little airspace spoil your fun. When you get down there, look for "The Sandbar" restaurant. It probably has the best seafood in the area, especially if you want more than just "fried this or that". It overlooks the harbor down there, and is a great place to eat. Have a good time down there.
