I haven't noticed any impact on cooling. They've been on since three hours
of flight, so it's hard to tell. Someday I'll take them off and take better
notes.
Thanks,

Well, it looks like Len and I were the only ones to take advantage of the great
fuel deal at Mt. Airy - not to mention the free hot dogs and drinks.
The fuel discount matched the max wind gust recorded by the AWOS up until noon.
So its was $ 0.19/gallon off the regular price - not too shabby - of course
it took me 8 gallons just to get there given the heck of a head wind.{:>) on the
way up.
It was gusty and I had an ground speed of 111 mph on the way up at 7500 MSL, dropped
down to 5500 and it picked up to 124 MPH. But, on the way back at 7400
I had a ground speed of between 212 and 224 MPH. But, some strange things were
happening at that level. I would be flying straight and level and the next
second going up 1000 fpm - sort of cold and high for a thermal - but combined
with the turbulence, I think we have some "rollers" or some sort of interaction
between air streams.
Sorry didn't see more of you - next time.

Take a look at http://www.grtavionics.com for a complete package.
Also see http://www.dynondevelopment.com and
see http://www.bluemountainavionics.com .
For engine only look up the ACS200 (I think replaced by the ACS 2500)

| Hello Group;
|
| My name is Bud Silvers. I am starting a RV-8 project. I have been looking
| at
| electronic/digital engine and flight instruments. I would appreciate
| ideas
| and suggestions off list to flynlow@usaviator.net. I plan to fly night
| VFR
| and do not plan to fly IFR. I would however like to have basic IFR
| instruments. I do have Instrument rating. In particular I would like to
| know
| they brands and systems to stay away from.
|
| Thank you.
