Rick is right.
We have had three times that just going out for BBQ! :-)
Think of this as an extended BBQ run. If you did not go last year, let me
tell you it was NICE just to be around so many RVs in a casual setting. And
you might even win some nice prizes too!
Again, anyone from the SERV list that is planning to go, PLEASE "check in"
here just so we have a feel and are on the lookout for you.
This is NOT a "formation check", just a check to see who all is going the
"same way, same day".
Len, any word on the paraphernalia ?
"3-ship demo"?? Ahhhh, maybe we should arrive a couple of hours earlier
guys! Since Ken cannot make it, I guess we cannot do our whiz-bang,
ooooh-aaaahhh *4-ship* routine. (Just kidding :-) )

Monster Garage update;
If you watched 60 Minutes last night then you know they announced that they
were going to fly the creation this Friday at FFA. According to the
Discovery people this should not have been released, and they are now
worried about having too many people around that might get in the way.
So, this is the information that I have on what is being planned at this
time.
1. They will be setting up early at FFA to take some
pictures and then head over to Currituck airport. They plan to leave FFA
around 10 AM. They would not tell me where they were going to be taking the
pictures, if you have been to FFA you know that if they setup on the other
side away from the runway it will be a long walk over to see it.
2. They plan to arrive at Currituck by 12 noon and setup
for the flight. There will be a Notam closing the airport between 12pm and
4:30pm. I have been trying to work with them about letting some of you that
may travel far get out early so you can get home before dark, but have not
received any guarantees. So if you're coming for the flight plan to arrive
before 12 noon and staying until 4:30.
This is all that I have on the event; I wish I could provide more info.

So let's review.
It's Len, James and Bill meeting at Statesville at 8:45 Saturday for
formation flight to I39.
Ed and I are in "same day, same way" mode. Not sure if Ed's stopping at
Statsville or not.
Stormy may go if the runway dries out in time.
Scott and Wayne8 expressed an interest, I think. Are you guys still on the
fence?
Anyone else?
The weather is looking ok...maybe some low/mid-level clouds on the other
side of the hills.

Hi Larry,
I had not planned on stopping, I assumed that the "formation" folks would
join up overhead of Statesville, did not realize they intended to join on
the ground. Not much point in me stopping just to watch the formation take
off {:>). I am not certain I would make it by that time in any case. I
will give calls on 122.85 as I leave 28A to see if anyone is around else
I'll just shuffle off to old Kentucky on my own and see you all there.
