So far the weather looks like (although not perfect for CLT area) it may be doable. If you are planning on going please send me an e-mail with your phone number and what your thoughts are. I am planning on going with Ron Schreck fairly early and returning the same day. A meet at KCUB might work. There are lots of choices for routing and a fuel stop somewhere will be required. So far Scott Keadle, Ken Harrill, Ron Schreck, and Lee Logan have expressed an interest. Please contact me at my off SERV address so as not to clog the SERV group. willfly@carolina.rr.com Steve Glasgow N123SG RV-8 Cappy's Toy 704-362-0005 704-281-7884 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 04:47:28 AM PST US From: Lenleg@aol.com Subject: RVSouthEast-List: Fwd: sunday --> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: Lenleg@aol.com In a message dated 3/10/05 11:12:37 P.M. The wind is a problem. The forecast surface wind (Gainesville) at our arrival time at Leeward is 260 @ 14G22. The runways are 18/36. That is an 80 degree cross wind at 14 gusting to 22. Of concern, but doable. Forecast surface wind back at Columbia tomorrow afternoon is 250 @ 18G34. For me that is a 60 degree crosswind gusting to 34. I'm sure it would be no problem, but gusts to 34 is a little more excitement than I care for. As much as I want to make this trip, I think I must cancel. The next weather update will be 7:00 PM this evening. I plan to check it again then, but at this point I am out. Now watch! The forecast will be wrong, the wind will die down, and I will be POed.
