Rick- I think I will plan a first fuel stop at 35A, then on to AMG for a second
stop and cheaper fuel before the final run on Lakeland. That would increase
my comfort level getting out of here on turf, fully loaded with camping gear
and food, to leave some of the gas behind. I have flown very few hours behind
the repitched prop so far, but impressed with the loss of climb. Still, it
feels dumb to make 2 stops on a trip that should take 3:55 direct :-)
Check it out and see if it would work to gaggle up at 35A at an appropriate time
on Thursday morning. That said, my wife isn't going to like anything but the
loosest enroute formation for more than a few minutes. If you guys are planning
to practice some real formation discipline on the way, we may trail you way
to the outside, depending on her comfort level at the time (and the appropriate
briefing and prep on my part, of course).
Wx looks like we will still have a lingering threat of rain by Thursday, so far.

Bill (and anyone else headed to Sun and Fun Monday): Please call me in
the morning (Monday am, 10 April) about getting together on the way down.
I can be reached at 843 726 8800 (home) or 912 567 0236 (cell). I can meet
you at St. Mary's or Hinesville (2J2; cheapest fuel along the route) or
wherever you like. Timing is not particularly critical either. I am
located at Ridgeland, SC (3J1) and will be flying alone. I can fly
reasonable formation, so should be no problem joining up at loosely, at
least, on anyone. If I don't hear from anyone, I will probably leave
mid-morning and top off either at AMG or Hinesville.
P.S. I've been told there is a LOT of Blackhawk traffic in the Fort Stewart
working areas and even that they are looking to "bag" a couple of GA
aircraft for airspace violations.
