My dad and I went down in his Piper Arrow (about a 140-145 knot cruise) and it took us almost all day to get back... two fuel stops, IMC, icing, 50 knot head winds, and controllers stretched to the breaking point. It was fun, but I don't want to do it again for a while. I did not see anyone wearing a "T" shirt from the group so I struck out there. I stopped by the Van's booth and was surprised to see that over 4'200 had been completed. I was talking with a few of the old guys I knew from back when I was building and they estimated that there were currently 16'000-18'000 people activley building RV's now. Boy have things changed... They had an RV -10 for sale in the booth. I think the price was about $280'000 with an IO-360 and a very basic VFR panel.
