      SERV:

Sorry guys ... the list has been quiet as some of us have been talking to
each other everyday on our plans for the weekend but have done it off list ...

Larry suggested we use the list ... not that everyone wants to read it but it

can be encouraging to a builder !!

Ken Harrill (Columbia), Stormy, Larry and myself are trying to plan a flight
of 3 or 4 to make an appearance at Eastover. Wx is not cooperating but we
      will see.

Our plans are to meet at Elizabethtown, NC (KEYF) at 10:00 am for briefing
and relatively inexpensive fuel ... then a short "Palmetto Flight of 4" into
Eastover for the festivities. Anyone that would like to follow us into
Eastover is welcome to show up.

Craig .... what is latest on the Eastover fly in for tomorrow ??? Last year
      was bad wx also !!!

Yeah, Saturday isn't looking too good. Monday looks promising, so I've
      arranged to be off work.

I'm done with my cowling. It's not finished, but I'm done with it. Wheel
pants are still in progress, but I'll fly without them for now. I need to
      get them done before Lumberton...

At SnF I heard two panel builders/installers talking in the exhibitor area: "So
you're the one who stole Dean Meylor from me..." Interesting to eavesdrop incognito
      :-) Dean, you're a tough customer, evidently.

I'm taking my own baby steps toward a glass panel. I envision two panels before
I'm done with all the planned upgrades. First will likely feature a Dynon or
two and autopilot, Garmin 296, plus my old radio and transponder and intercom.
Next generation will be a pair of GRT EFIS with all new frequency-agile Garmin/UPS
radios, ini flight weather and traffic, XM radio and CD; the WORKS!
Already cutting metal for the first-generation panel replacement and shopping
for wire, switches, crimpers, fuseblocks, etc.

      Hi Guys,

I need to put together a short blurb on our flight over Fairfield
Festival on May 7. They are going to have an announcer that will
announce the flight and we will communicate with them on unicom about
the time of arrival. I think we should have the pilots names and
airplane types and maybe a little about Van's airplanes. If you will
email your info, I will put something together and email it back, for
      you approval and proofing.
       Thanks,

It is hard to tell at this point. The prog charts show possible rain
and low ceilings, wind from the SW at 15 to 20.

Hey, Radomir. Yes, I went there yesterday online. Quite a bit more $ than the
Dynon but maybe an option for me. I dislike that they chose to disable the airport
info feature on the Sport model - it was the one feature my wife was most
impressed with at GRT's SnF booth :-). GRT is still a maturing product; when
they add synthetic terrain to their EFIS/map, Chelton better look out or prepare
      to slash prices.

      Len, Larry, Stormy;

Sunday will work for me. 1:00 at KEYF. I had to fly a little last night
just to knock the edge off.

      Stormy,

I may be reading the prog charts wrong, but I interpret the green lines
to outline areas of IFR conditions, low ceilings and/or visibility.

What's your interpretation? I could not find a legend for prog charts.

Agree the entire weekend looks like a wash-out. Ken, where can I get
ceiling info on the prog charts? I use the Experimental ADDS weather
site and have never seen a ceiling prog chart offered anywhere except as
      part of individual TAF's.

      Thanks for the info.

It is hard to tell at this point. The prog charts show possible rain
and low ceilings, wind from the SW at 15 to 20.

Stormy and Len good to here from you. I have just flown off my 40 hours and
the weekend of sun and fun my one only daughter got married. I had one prop
blade throwing a little grease and still am still waiting for some upgrades for

the chelton. So for I've not had one smooth flight with out winds of
10-20knots and turbulence. Looking forward to some smooth air and some road trips.
