To those who have responded to the initial posts (you know who you are) and to
the ones sitting on the fence (if you can find lodging for yourselves):

We need to decide what nights we want the event to be. The management at the Crews
Inn has graciously allowed me to reserve the entire place for Friday, Saturday
and Sunday nights of Labor Day weekend on a verbal handshake, with no deposit
required. Out of courtesy, we need to release any dates and rooms we won't
be needing. Their rates are quite reasonable: around $75/night.

Kindly post your preferences for how many and which nights you prefer. My personal
preference is for two nights, and I'm partial to Saturday and Sunday nights,
though Friday and Saturday might work, with an after-work departure Friday
evening. When you vote, please let us know if there are any of these three nights
that would absolutely be a deal-breaker for you. I want to see as many
friends at the beach as trip logistics will allow. If the group insists on staying
for three nights, I'll try to endure it ;-) If the majority opts for just
one night, I'll send you wussies a postcard the second night to tell you what
      you missed...

Since # of couples going may exceed rooms available at the Inn (they have 5 rooms)
we need to look for a second location as well. I'll probably leave that fun
to the ones who are slow getting their deposits in.

Don't forget the 3rd Annual Fly-In/Camp Out/River Float event at my place, scheduled
for June 25th. So far, I have a Cessna driver and his family expressing
high interest in camping as part of the event (guy I met at Ocracoke last week).
Other campers are most welcome, either the night before or the night of the
Fly-in. We'll provide electric hookups, running water, campfire fuel, pit
latrine <g> and you can shower in the house!

Grace and peace to my RV buds,

      -Stormy

Millsap vote is for Saturday and Sunday nights of Labor Day weekend...Dennis
is in sunny Maxwell AFB, Alabama until June 25, so I don't think we'll make
it to your event that day--it sounds like great fun, and I'm sorry we'll
      miss it.

Two people. Sat and Sun nights work for us. How flexible will Crews be if
      the wx doesn't cooperate?

      Thanks,

Thanks for the feedback, gang. I'd say we have an emerging concensus. Still waiting
to hear from Wayne 8A, however. Hope the day trip went well today! My
neighbors had a nice wedding for their daughter, and we had a very full day.

I will call the proprietor tomorrow and nail down the details regarding the rates,
cancellation policy, etc. Look for a post here with details :-)
