Or just don't put the door in at all. I have the
door, and will inspect it at the next opportunity and decide what to do

I have the kit to put on but for once my procrastination worked in my favor
... I will not be putting it on !!

I guess if my open house gets rained out on June 25th, I'll be hosting a meeting
on the rain date, Saturday, July 2 :-)

That is not a problem ... the calendar lets me put in dates - like first
Saturday in each month and then it takes it out into the future and we don't
have to put it in each month ....
Will just make an adjustment for the July 2nd date if needed !!

Think positive .... Stormy is a name for the past !!!!

Guy and gals:
I am going to put this trip planning info "out there" and then leave it for you
each to do with as you see fit. On the home front, there's lots going on with
assorted personal crises among some church friends that will be consuming my
attention and time in the coming weeks. I don't go looking for these things;
they just happen. When they thrust themselves on my attention, other stuff like
making vacation plans takes a back-seat. I've made my reservations for the
Labor Day weekend, and now it's up to anyone else interested to do the same.
What follows is a summary of how things stand at the Crew's Inn.
Stormy and wife have reserved the attic room. There are 4 other rooms left; two
share a bath, two others have private baths. Rates are $55-77/night. That
is not a typo. There is a three night minimum for the holiday weekend. There
is a 48 hour cancellation poicy, and the required deposit is for one night.
The owner is leery of block-bookings for a holiday weekend (all in one name),
but if each couple books their own reservations, that's fine.
If you decide to book a room for the weekend (Friday to Monday), be sure to tell
Mike, the manager, or Alton, the owner, that you are with Bill Boyd's flying
group, since Mike is holding the rooms for our group for now. After a few days,
it will be first-come, first-served to the public at large, so decide now.
Like I said, I'm already committed (somebody has to get the ball rolling :-)
I gave Mike my credit card # today, (for my room only!), with the understanding
that the charge won't be processed until the 48 hrs before the first night (important
to me since my Visa is a check card that comes straight out of my account).
I suggest anyone serious about this trip do the same, ASAP.
The Inn is a charming place about a block from Silver Lake and the charter piers,
in a wooded, shady neighborhood in historic Ocracoke village. The Inn has
the feel of "grandma's house" and is very quaint and laid-back; the perfect place
to take your knitting project or a good book for an extended read. I worried
I might get bored in such small digs for that many days, but then, hey -I
have an airplane and I can take all the side-trips I want!
The # is 252-928-7011. You guys are officially ON YOUR OWN from here on out...
but please let us know on the List who's in and who's not, so we can see out
trip taking shape. I am very much looking forward to it and hope that everyone
who expressed interest will follow through. Meanwhile, if you'd remember to
pray for Bill and Miriam's friends who are going through a sifting time, I'd appreciate
it.
Later, 'gators.
-Stormy
