It wasn't my choice, Steve. That decision was made for me by others, specifically
the local zoning boys and the FAA. That said, being officially on the map
and in the database does have some upside.

Looking forward to seeing you and your FL friends next Saturday. The long term
wx forecast is already looking favorable. Maybe that's a bad sign?

Since Torque really isn't that good at riveting I thought I would ask
      ya'll.

It looks like I've got two weeks off until my next assignment and the
fuselage is at a stage where I need some help riveting it together. (If
      only my arms were longer!)

If any of you would like to help with riveting my RV-9 fuselage together
I would greatly appreciate it! Don't worry, there are enough rivets for
everyone to pound so you all don't have to rush over to my house at the
      same time.

I and my RV-9 are in Huntersville, NC. (Yes, I'm like the guy who built
a boat in his basement and realized there was no way to get it out.
Only I know I can it get my RV out, it will just take a saw and a
      hammer.)

You can reach me on my cell phone (704) 607-4572 to set up your riveting
      appointment.

      Thanks!

My package arrived from TX today (minus the mag gear I ordered; we're getting
that straight in the next few days, I hope)... these puppies sure look NICE.
If they go on as easily as the manual suggests, and work as well as they look,
      I'm sure I'll be a happy customer.

It was a long wait, hopefully all worthwhile.

      Hello everyone,
I've acquired all the tools and just about have
the shop (garage) in order. I intend to begin
construction this labor day weekend on an RV-8
standard build. My wife and I sat in Van's RV-8A at
Oshkosh three years ago, but have never actually flown
in any RV. If people are willing, I would like to
just ride along in a couple of different planes to be
sure the 8 is the one for me. The obvious alternative
would be the 7. So, if any 7 or 8 drivers (A and/or
Taildraggers) are looking for a passenger to help
cover some flying expenses, and you're close to
      Hickory, please let me know.

      Thanks for any assistance,
      Bart

Bart, I have an 8 based at Lake Norman (14A). Would be glad
to scoot over to Hickory, probably some evening would work
best. No expenses allowed, just passing along a favor.
Thanks again to Mike Munn and Len Leggette who gave me my
first rides. I haven't built, so can only answer flying
questions. My number is 704-650-0249. Scott Keadle N844RF
