--> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: sportav8r@aol.com Good morning everyone: Decidede to collect a head count for the fly-in Saturday so I can be sure I have enough food and have the transportation logistics covered for the river trip... we may ned a bus, depending ;-) Consider this an optional head count: you can always back out, and you can still come if you don't RSVP, but I'd prefer to know how many guests I'm expecting. Please reply with your # of persons, and whether you want to float the river with us or plan to stay put and amuse yourself for 90 minutes while we have all the fun <g>, also whether you have an inner tube for yourself or need to borrow one of ours. That's it. Thanks, everyone. Weather is lookin' GREAT for Saturday: sunny and mid-80's. That river is gonna feel so good! -Stormy

--> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: Lenleg@aol.com In a message dated 6/20/05 2:17:53 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, bfilipiak@yahoo.com writes: Hello everyone, I've acquired all the tools and just about have the shop (garage) in order. I intend to begin construction this labor day weekend on an RV-8 standard build. My wife and I sat in Van's RV-8A at Oshkosh three years ago, but have never actually flown in any RV. If people are willing, I would like to just ride along in a couple of different planes to be sure the 8 is the one for me. The obvious alternative would be the 7. So, if any 7 or 8 drivers (A and/or Taildraggers) are looking for a passenger to help cover some flying expenses, and you're close to Hickory, please let me know. Thanks for any assistance, Bart Bart: We have 8s & 8As here in the Winston Salem area ... should not be hard to get you up as we fly almost every weekend. Len Leggette, RV-8A Greensboro, N.C. I made the ? mistake of shopping 3 different vendors for parts and now I have to wait to see what they ship and if I thought of everything (switches, wire, fast-ons, crimpers, connectors, etc.) plus I'm still gathering parts for the "proper" firewall penetrations - gonna wire the plane right this time :-) I will have the Pmags out on display for fondling and such... just don't take 'em with you.
