Three times in less than 2 years mine has completely shut down (blank screen). The fix so far has been to un-plug both wiring plugs on the back of the instrument and plug back in. What gives? Help! They told me there was a capacitor they were changing out in units having problems. (Mine did it any time it got cold out.) Don't know why they don't issue a service bulletin. With that said I still really like the unit. Called Grand Rapids and they are sending me a new unit with upgraded software for $90. Is that pulling the plugs and re-plugging. Easy for you to do with your fancy panels. I knew I made some mistakes when I built mine. I have two switches in line to the EIS. The master, and a second switch I labeled "override". Wayne had told me that his EIS sometimes needed to be rebooted, so I put the second switch in there so I could cut the power to it without having to kill everything else. Another point of failure yes, but so far it's only been a point of convienence. I also have an override switch for the autopilot in case it freaks out. - Larry Bowen Larry@BowenAero.com http://BowenAero.com > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-rvsoutheast-list-server@matronics.com > [mailto:owner-rvsoutheast-list-server@matronics.com] On > Behalf Of Steve Glasgow > Sent: Tuesday, July 05, 2005 2:47 PM > To: rvsoutheast-list@matronics.com > Subject: Re: RVSouthEast-List: EIS > > --> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: "Steve Glasgow" > --> > > What do you mean by re-boot?
