Hey Guys,
Talked with Bill C. and suggest Lancaster (KLKR)
Met with the new FBO today, Gary Laubscher, and
he is VERY excited about having us there. He has
a cookout every Saturday and Sunday at noon
anyway and would be glad to have us. He will
give us a 10 cent per gallon discout on avgas and
feed us for free although he accepts donations
for burgers and dogs.
He has put in a grass runway parallel to the
paved runway and about 2/3's of its length. It
begins at the end of 24 and entends to about
where the terminal building is.
There is a nice conference room for any business
we have.
This is the man that would not charge Ed any
tiedown fee when he had to land his RV-6 there
with an engine problem and leave it for several
days.
He is trying to make a go of this business and I
thought we ought to support him as much as
possible.
I told him that October 2nd would be the rain
date. He is good with that.
Let's give him as much support as we can, he is
very friendly to General Aviation.
Thanks,
Robert
Larry .... can you get it on the calendar ???

What's the story for this month (8/6)?

I sent a note last week saying I would miss ... think the calendar calls for
Stantons.

I agree that Gary Laubscher is the type of FBO we could use at every
airport. He made me feel very welcome even though I had a partially
disassembled aircraft sitting prominently on his parking ramp - told me no
charge for as long as I was there.

Subject: | Where can a guy find Alodine? |
--> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: Bart Filipiak <bfilipiak@yahoo.com>
Hello everyone,
My RV-8 empennage kit has arrived and I will soon
begine construction. I don't want to start a
discussion of metal prep and primers, I have chosen a
path for my reasons. That being said, does anyone
know where I can get Alodine and/or AKZO Nobel primer
without paying the additional $20 each for Aircraft
Spruce to ship it to me? I live in Hickory and
frequently travel to Durham, I can stop anywhere along
the way (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, etc).
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Bart

Bart,
You can get Alodyne 1201 from Aviall on Aviation Parkway at RDU airport, I
think they also operate a satellite office in the Piedmont Hanger at Winston
Salem Airport. I think that they will sell to you as a cash customer with no
account, but if they won't let me know and I'll act as the middleman.

Hi Bart,
I used both alodine and Akzo 2-part on my -6 when I built it 12 years
ago... bought it over the counter from Piedmont Aviation in Winston-Salem.
