I renewed in June with underwriter AIG through Falcon in TX; $311 for
the standard $1M liability policy (no hull). If I owned a $100k airframe
I might have to rethink the idea of running without hull, but hull on
$40k would have been about $1100 & I just can't justify that for 50-75
hrs of flying per year.
BTW, has anyone else noticed that insurance companies keep talking about
what a huge problem liability is, & use that as a justification for
raising rates, yet the lion's share of the premium is for the hull?

are arguments both ways, good ones at that, but if my family needs to collect
for a totalled hull, they're likely to be getting a far bigger check from
my life insurance company. Not necessarily, but moderately likely.
