Bob and Sudie Rogers own the place and do this great "y'all come" kind of event every year. Bob asked me to get the word out to RV'ers in the area, so consider your self informed. This strip is 2800 ft of great grass strip, and if you come, you'll find out just how good we know how to fry fish down this way! Hours are 10 am to 5 pm. Coordinates are N34.49.63 W 78.55.91, or 200 degrees 10nm off Fay VOR. Hope to see some of you there. I wanted the Southeast guys to be the first ones to have the date for our first Fly-In at Ridgeland (in years) to be held next year on Saturday, 13 May, 2006. James supported us last week with a run on the "prototype" race course and had a fun time along with the rest! Gave me a couple of good suggestions too---thanks, James! We plan an inbound race to the fly-in, an "idle power" spot landing contest, food and drink available, lots of airplanes in the air and on the ground, and all else that goes along with a fun flying day. If the club would like to make Ridgeland (3J1) on the 13th its monthly meeting date and site instead of holding it on the first Saturday as normal, you would be welcome. I have two choices Trutrack or Trio, I know very little about autopilots and I do want to use the Grand Rapids EFIS dual screen system. So here is the question what is the system with the best features and value and how is this going to fit in to my needs, I am interested in flying 98% of the time day time VFR and around 300 to 500 mile trips. Any help will be welcomed.
