Len,
My name is Jordan Grant and I met you a while back at the Lumberton
Air Show. My wife and I are pilots in the Air Force at Seymour Johnson
AFB (F-15E drivers). We are nearing completion of our RV-6 (need to
paint the wings and do final assembly). We both need to get a tailwheel
endorsement and I was wondering if you knew of any CFIs within spitting
distance of Goldsboro that might be good taildragging instructors. If
you happen to know of someone, I'd appreciate it if you could drop us a
line.
Thanks much,

Good to hear from you ... we have been trying for a while to find you guys
!!! Wanted to invite you to some gatherings but no one could remember your
names or find you on the SERV list.
There is a guy in Winston Salem that several people have used. We have a
very active guy in Greenville that may know of someone ... his name is Dennis
Milshap ... will try to get him to contact you if he knows of anyone. Of
course ... Winston is only a few minutes in an F-16 !!!
Please make sure you sign up for the SERV mailing list ... we have a lot of
gatherings that we would love for you to be a part of. We have formed a
formation flying team ... Palmetto Flight ... James Clark from Columbia, Ken
Harrill from Columbia, Bill Crothers from Charlotte, and myself. We are having
a
blast with it ... going to Texas next weekend as a team for a formation
clinic ... we could definitely use you guys as part of the team !!!
To get SERV go to _www.bowenareo.com/serv_ (http://www.bowenareo.com/serv)
There is information on how to subscribe to the list. You will get emails
from the group.

It will probably be easiest to find someone with a Champ or Cessna 140 to
get the endorsement.
Then for the (insurance required) "recent RV checkout", you can get that
done in a day in Florida (down near Lake Okechobee) or Jefferson City , MO
or Texas (Alex D) or at the plant in Oregon (Mike S).
We are hoping to line up Mike S this spring but that might be too late for
you.

Steve, how difficult and/or bumpy is the ride? My wife is 4 months pregnant,
but still rides her bike about 30 minutes per day. I thought that might be a
nice trip for her, as I don't think she's gonna let me go to Shelby this
Saturday.

Scott, I believe the ride is down hill all the way and with lots of stops it
takes about 1 to 2 hours. It is a beautiful place and I know you will enjoy
the company. I don't think it is bumpy.

I'll copy all the messages and send them to his work e-mail just in case.
Being fellow Air Force, I can access his address on the global network.
BTW, he may be a little offended by the "not far in a F-16" comment since he
and his wife are F-15E drivers ;)

It will probably be easiest to find someone with a Champ or Cessna 140 to
get the endorsement.
Then for the (insurance required) "recent RV checkout", you can get that
done in a day in Florida (down near Lake Okechobee) or Jefferson City , MO
or Texas (Alex D) or at the plant in Oregon (Mike S).
We are hoping to line up Mike S this spring but that might be too late for
you.

p.s. Beg, borrow, steal as much time as you can in an RV as soon as you
can. :-)

A few weeks ago. We had a "surprise", which accelerated the plans a little
bit. :) A little girl is due on April 10th. Her mother is taking flying
lessons, so maybe she'll get the bug... Steve, I'm gonna try and talk her
into the bike thing, it sounds like a lot of fun.

I was bored, so I looked it up. Mach 2.5 for the F-15, Mach 2.0 for the
F-16.

Hi Len,
If Jackson is close to your NC/TX flight path, y'all stop in & take a
break at Slobovia Outernational (MS71 on the Memphis Sectional).
