We were smokin' along at 138 mph (per my G296) on 16 gph... Granted, we

used less fuel between them and gone way faster!

That would be preferred; the less alone flying, the better, even if it's a zig-zag.
When's that dinner RSVP?

Hi All !
It is only a couple weeks until RV Weekend at Sun-n-Fun on January
13,14,15.
As you know, Sun-n-Fun and I are coordinating the dinner for
Saturday
night. WE MUST HAVE A FAIRLY ACCURATE COUNT OF THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE
WHO
WILL BE STAYING FOR DINNER. So far, only 19 people have RSVP'd for
dinner.
(In 2004 we had 55 and even last year, when the weather was horrible,
we had
28) so I am SURE that 19 is not enough.
PLEASE RSVP TO LAURA CROOK by MONDAY 1/2/2006 lauraRWS@msn.com if
you will
be joining us for dinner Saturday night. Remember that we have
camping
under the wing; a MOVIE Saturday night after dinner and continental
breakfast Sunday morning.
Thanks very much for responding!
Laura

Hello SERVers
I'm interested in getting some aerobatic instruction so I can continue
to find new ways to thrill myself in my -6A. Does anyone know
(personally) of a good instructor or school for said instruction?
Needless to say I don't mind flying some distance to do this but if
there's someone on the (south) east coast it would be preferable.
TIA,

Not sure but James does not like to get up early ... we are only about 50
minutes from Columbia ... so you have plenty of time to get down to INT ...

Howdy, Y'all-
Beginning in March, Chapter 458 will be hosting breakfast at hangar #205 at
THA from 7:30 to 10:00. Contact Gary Meuer at GBMMoyair@bellsouth.net
For those who get it, see attached flyer- note that this is where the Beech
Staggerwing Museum is (not open in winter) which is a great destination if
you've never been there.
http://www.staggerwing.com/
They now also have a Starship.
airport info: http://www.airnav.com/airport/KTHA
Usually cheap fuel can be had at SYI (15nm NW, hosts b'fast 4th Sat & my home
base- great field!) and BGF (15nm SE, hosts b'fast 1st Sat) THA is former
B-24 training base with HUGE amount of ramp space- should turn out to be a good
event!

Final decision may come down to the morning fog forecast on Thursday night, then.
It's possible to get stuck in the mountains for days waiting for the burn-off.

It's on the SERV calendar. I think some of the other RV groups monitor our
list, so we should be good there. We can remind them of the details as the
day approaches.

Subject: AVL fly in Mar 18
Hello Larry,
I have spoken with the owner of the Circle B Ranch BBQ, 655 Airport Rd, He
is expecting us. I told him we would have somewhere between 20 and 50
people--depending on the weather. He has a private room that will seat
about 50. I told William that I would be back in touch with a day or two
ahead of the event.
From the parking area at AVL to the BBQ is 1,500 to 1,800 feet. If anyone
needs assistance (ride) I can provide that. Also, please list my cell phone
as a contact number--828.242.7500. I will speak with the FBO and arrange
for parking. If you pay cash for gas on Saturday there is usually a
discount.
I know that the SC RV'ers may be on you mail list but, if you alert the GA
(Atlanta) and the TN guys that would be great. And anybody else even if
they don't have an RV--they soon will.
Please advise if I can help in any other way.
May the weather be good and the friends plentiful,
Ed Horgan

Looks like I might need to "UNDO" this message!
Patty needs to leave on Saturday morning and she will be in the RV6.
Gotta get the plan from Ken later.
Hey, looks like Nancy and I might be warming up the Piper (unless there are
a couple of open RV seats on Friday. :-)
So for now, James is **OUT** on Friday via RV.
More later.
